A senior cloud and DevOps engineer, a few days every month.

For small US and UK teams without a platform engineer. I take the cloud, pipeline and database work off your developers' plates and handle it independently. Fixed days per month, cancel any month.

Is this you?

Usually a team of 5 to 50 engineers, building product on Azure, with infrastructure work that never makes it to the top of the sprint.

Infra is everyone's side job.

So: pipelines, alerts and upgrades get done in a rush, or not at all.

We need senior help, not a full-time hire.

So: a few focused days a month cost far less than a salary.

Nobody owns the cloud bill or the database.

So: cost creeps up and the database gets slower every month.

what I handle

Your infrastructure backlog, owned end to end.

You tell me the priorities. I do the work in your repos and cloud, through your normal review process, and write down everything I change.

Cloud and cost

  • Azure setup, networking, identity and access
  • Monthly cost review and cleanup
  • Right-sizing, reservations and budgets

Delivery

  • CI/CD pipelines with tests and staging
  • Infrastructure as code, Bicep or Terraform
  • Monitoring, logs and alerts

Databases

  • Slow queries, indexes and schema reviews
  • Backups, replicas and restore tests
  • Migrations and upgrades
Every deploy, same checks.

How it works

A first week to get set up, then the same monthly rhythm.

  1. 1

    Intro call

15 minutes on your stack, your backlog and what "done" looks like.

  2. 2

    First week

Access with least privilege, a read-only review, and a 90-day plan you approve.

  3. 3

    Every week

Work from your board, changes through pull requests, and a short written update every Friday.

  4. 4

    Every month

A 30-minute review: what shipped, what's next, and whether to change the plan.

Plans

Questions people ask first

How is this different from a contractor?

You pay for a fixed number of days a month, not hours, and I own the outcome: priorities agreed monthly, work delivered through your process, progress written up every week.

Do unused days roll over?

No. If a month is quiet, we bring forward the next item on the plan. If you need fewer days, change plan for the next month.

What access do you need?

The least that does the job, through your own SSO or identity provider where possible. You can remove it at any time.

Do you sign NDAs and contracts?

Yes. A short services agreement and NDA before any access.

Can we cancel?

Yes, any month. Tell me before the next month starts and I'll hand over documentation for everything I've touched.

Need an engineer, not a hire?

Tell me about your stack and your backlog. I'll tell you honestly which plan fits, or whether you need one at all.
